About this grant

Many business leaders and economists are calling for a retooling of the American economy, especially in older, industrial states such as Michigan. The Metropolitan Policy Program at the Brookings Institution, an internationally known think tank, is well-positioned to assist in the development and deployment of such a strategy for economic renewal. With continuing support, the grantee will undertake a range of work to promote the economic competitiveness of metropolitan areas domestically and globally, including older industrial cities such as Flint. Activities will include original research, policy advocacy, analytical tool development, and network building.
