About this grant
The project goal is to strengthen the culture of giving and the infrastructure for philanthropy in Turkey. To this end, the Third Sector Foundation of Turkey will provide training, technical assistance, networking opportunities, and knowledge resources to individuals, foundations, and corporations in Turkey who are interested in improving their philanthropic practices. The grantee will also further develop community philanthropy in Turkey by continuing to champion the community foundation model and introducing new mechanisms for local giving. During 2013-2015, the grantee organized peer-learning and skill-building events for individuals and families, foundations, companies, and local civic initiatives to build the capacity for more strategic philanthropy. The grantee also collected and published inspiring stories of individual philanthropy, piloted two giving circle events, and explored opportunities for community philanthropy in Turkey. Established in 1993, the grantee is a resource center for its more than 100 member associations and foundations, as well as the sector in general.
