About this grant

The program goal is to help nonprofits learn to build civic capacity by partnering with the communities they serve and where they work. In 2014, the Alliance for Nonprofit Management and the Building Movement Project launched the Nonprofits Integrating Community Engagement project to increase constituent voice as a core practice of nonprofit service delivery. The partners introduced the project to their constituencies, created an advisory committee, and created a training curriculum. Over the next year, they will implement this curriculum, establish a nonprofit consultant affinity group, and broadly disseminate what the project has to offer. The Building Movement Project is an initiative that encourages nonprofit service providers to enhance civic engagement and social change, promote the common good, and address generational shifts in leadership. The Alliance for Nonprofit Management, a membership association that delivers management and governance support services to nonprofit organizations, will manage the Nonprofits Integrating Community Engagement project.
