About this grant
In 2012, the Building Movement Project began developing resource materials to help nonprofits in the United States build civic capacity by partnering with the communities they serve and where they work. In 2014, along with the Alliance for Nonprofit Management, the grantee launched the Nonprofits Integrating Community Engagement project. As a result, a full training curriculum guide was developed, a nonprofit consultant affinity group was established, and the nonprofit consultant field was informed of the project’s offerings. Over the next two years, the project’s implementers will conduct outreach, disseminate the guide, advise practitioners on its use, and evaluate the project. The Nonprofits Integrating Community Engagement project is an initiative that encourages nonprofit service providers to enhance civic engagement and social change, promote the common good, and address generational shifts in leadership. Third Sector New England, a provider of nonprofit capacity building, leadership, and management service to nonprofit organizations, will manage the Nonprofits Integrating Community Engagement project.
