About this grant
This grant will enable the Pew Charitable Trusts to inform and work with community college administrators and state workforce development officials to develop a roadmap for training new and emerging types of primary care dental providers at the nation’s community colleges or other nontraditional settings. The United States is experiencing a perfect storm in the dental health industry due to an aging workforce and projections of limited growth in the future supply of dental providers. The goal of this project is to generate a high level of interest in developing partnerships with community colleges and workforce development leaders to develop new middle-skill employment pathways for high school graduates and others in the dental health industry that pay family sustaining wages and do not require a four-year degree.
