About this grant
The National Poverty Center at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan was established in 2002 as a university-based, nonpartisan research center with a mission to conduct and promote multidisciplinary, policy-relevant research, mentor and train emerging scholars, and inform public discourse on the causes and consequences of poverty. This grant will provide support for a project to analyze the current realities of poverty, explore possible philanthropic investments to alleviate the causes and/or effects of poverty, and inform the public discourse about opportunities to expand more effective economic participation to low- and moderate-income families.
