About this grant
The program goal is to strengthen the financial sustainability of the Mozaik Community Development Foundation, a private, independent, Bosnian grantmaking foundation based in Sarajevo. Through its grantmaking, training and networking assistance, social enterprise development, and leadership, the grantee promotes active civic participation in decisionmaking and community development throughout Bosnia. As part of its long-term financial sustainability strategy, the grantee will launch an endowment-building program designed to raise $750,000 over the next five years. To match the contribution from the Mott Foundation, the grantee will target support from individuals, corporate donors, and other donor agencies operating in Bosnia. Additionally, during the grant period the grantee will contribute to the endowment a portion of the revenue from two social enterprises it owns in Bosnia. Established in 2000, the grantee has developed into one of the strongest and most dynamic and innovative nonprofits in Bosnia and the wider region.
