About this grant
The program goal is to mobilize local communities in western Ukraine to effectively address and resolve issues of common concern. General purpose support will assist the West-Ukrainian Resource Center in the fulfillment of its mission to promote the development of civil society through the support of community initiatives. Its goals are threefold — to strengthen local communities by supporting local, results-oriented community development initiatives; increase productive cooperation between the state, businesses, and civil society organizations at the community level; and develop the capacities of local and regional civic groups through the delivery of quality educational, consulting, and informational services to these groups. The West-Ukrainian Resource Center was founded in 1994 as a support organization for regional, nongovernmental organizations. Since then, it has become a leader in the provision of consulting and training services on issues of organizational administration, territorial management, and community development.
