About this grant
This grant will allow McLean Hospital to support the program in education, afterschool and resiliency to continue to serve as the lead technical assistance and assessment advisor for the statewide afterschool networks on science, technology, engineering, and math opportunities in afterschool programs. As part of a comprehensive partnership initiative with the Noyce Foundation, the program in education, afterschool and resiliency will: 1) provide technical assistance and training, along with the Afterschool Alliance; 2) coordinate the development of program and student assessment tools; and 3) conduct a multistate study to better assess program quality and the impact on students who participate in informal science programs. The overall goal of this partnership project is to increase the availability of high quality informal science education for students attending afterschool programs, and to increase the number of students who are interested in pursuing careers in the science, technology, engineering, and math fields.
