About this grant

This grant will support Child Development for Kids, Inc., to develop a demonstration project to design and implement an afterschool literacy proficiency program for Dual Language Learner Hispanic students. Specifically, the grantee will: 1) develop a national demonstration project; 2) design a literacy curriculum for afterschool and summer; 3) promote common goals for increasing student proficiency in English Language Arts; and 4) collect and analyze program data to inform policy development. The overall goal of this project is to improve educational success for Hispanic children by reaching them during the critical hours after school.
