About this grant
Chinese investments in the economies of South America are much larger and more influential than most had previously acknowledged. The realization of their importance was highlighted by research that Tufts University published through this project. The project’s research also presented a compelling case for Chinese authorities to pay more attention to environmental standards in their investments outside China. This renewal grant will continue research on the impact of Chinese investments in the economies of South America, while also beginning research to address Brazilian investment impacts in neighboring countries.
