About this grant
This is the second in a series of grants that will support the establishment of an endowed faculty chair at the Indiana University School of Philanthropy. A C. S. Mott Foundation Community Philanthropy Chair will be one of 20 planned endowed chairs at this school. Such a faculty position will enable Indiana University to improve community philanthropy by deepening the knowledge base needed to develop more informed decisionmaking toward the aggregation of resources, capacities, and connections to produce better outcomes in local communities. The university will match the earnings from the endowment to fund the chair. This is one of several projects linked with the 2014 centennial of community foundations highlighting the Mott Foundation’s legacy in this area. Indiana University is a major multicampus public research institution, grounded in the liberal arts and sciences, and a world leader in professional, medical, and technological education.
