About this grant
ActionAid USA addresses key policies related to poverty reduction and sustainable development globally. It is a member of ActionAid International, which has member organizations that are working in more than 40 countries to fight poverty. Through this project, the grantee will continue to press for increased civil society engagement at meetings of the BRICS grouping (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa), as well as advocate for transparency, environmental, and social standards for BRICS institutions. Over the last grant period, the grantee launched a civil society network to build awareness in BRICS countries and provide an analysis of these countries’ investments in other developing countries. This work led to an important conference that created a rare opportunity for the civil society network and key BRICS governments to discuss environmental and social impacts of their investments.
