About this grant

The project goal is to create an online, global platform for the community philanthropy field to be able to network and share tools, resources, and knowledge. In 2014, the Cleveland Foundation launched the Community Foundation Atlas, which has provided directory information for over 1,800 community foundations worldwide as well as impact stories and research on community foundation characteristics. The Foundation Center will upgrade the atlas through an iterative process, engaging the field in a series of meetings and workshops held around the world. The information gathered will be used to draft a research paper that will result in the creation of necessary tools and resources for the online platform. As the project progresses, the Foundation Center will continue to engage the field and update and maintain a worldwide community foundation directory. Established in 1956, the Foundation Center is dedicated to fostering public understanding of the foundation field by collecting, organizing, analyzing and disseminating information on foundations, corporate giving, and related subjects.
