About this grant
This grant will support the creation of the first comprehensive atlas of the international community foundation movement. As part of its contribution to the 100th anniversary of the community foundation field in 2014, the Cleveland Foundation will partner with the Foundation Center, the Global Fund for Community Foundations, the Worldwide Initiatives for Grantmaker Support, and several data and communications specialists to develop a freely accessible, international online platform of information about community foundations worldwide. The atlas will build a sense of community among community philanthropists around the globe through storytelling, data sharing, and dialogue. Through extensive surveying and research, data will be collected, interpreted, and field-tested. Besides data, the atlas will tell the stories of community foundations around the world through rich and compelling narratives and photos. An interactive wiki will also be created. Founded in 1914, the Cleveland Foundation is the nation’s oldest community foundation.
