About this grant
The program goal is to support learning among foundation professionals so that they can improve their performance. This grant will provide partial funding to the Center for Effective Philanthropy to conduct their 2013 biennial national conference, Pursuing Results: Effective Foundation Practice, in Detroit, Michigan. Approximately 300 foundation chief executive officers, trustees, and senior executives are expected to attend. Established in 2000, the grantee aims to advance the practice of philanthropy by providing the management and governance tools needed to define, assess, and improve overall foundation performance. Its mission is to provide data and create insight so philanthropic funders can better define, assess, and improve their effectiveness and, as a result, their intended impact. Besides its conferences, the grantee provides foundations with performance assessment tools, conducts research, and provides other educational programs.
