About this grant

The program goal is to increase the level and impact of individual philanthropy in the Central/Eastern Europe and Russia region. To this end, Funding Network, a giving circle based in the United Kingdom, will expand its work across the region and support local nonprofits and initiative groups interested in starting similar giving circles in their countries. More specifically, the grantee will provide information, technical assistance, and mentoring and facilitate regional and international contacts and exchanges among its partners. Also, the grantee will document, publish, and disseminate success stories and lessons learned from the development of these giving circles in the Central/Eastern Europe and Russia region. Established in London in 2002 by a group of private philanthropists with the mission to increase the level, scope, and impact of charitable giving, the grantee has staged over 120 events in the United Kingdom, Canada, and South Africa. Through these activities, the grantee has raised over 4.2 million pounds from more than 4,000 philanthropists in support of 600 small and medium nonprofit organizations.
