About this grant

The project goal is to increase the level and effectiveness of private philanthropy in Southeast Europe. To this end, the Zing Foundation, also known as Bolder Giving, will establish working partnerships with key Mott grantees in Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, and Turkey and will strengthen their capacity to use donor storytelling as an effective strategy for increasing local giving. In addition, the grantee will support project participants to establish relationships with major donors in their countries and encourage these donors to work together both in country and across borders to inspire others to give more. Since its launch in 2007, the grantee has been inspiring and supporting people to engage in philanthropic work at their full lifetime potential. The grantee’s key achievements in the past include collaborating with Bill and Melinda Gates on their Giving Pledge, developing a library of over 100 stories of people who give significant portions of their income or wealth and using these stories to inspire others to give, and providing training and technical assistance to community foundations in the United States on donor storytelling methods.
