About this grant

Michigan, the Great Lakes State, has the opportunity to be a leader in the blue economy, which involves a range of economic development activities aimed at using a region’s freshwater resources to generate jobs and wealth. The Annis Water Resources Institute at Grand Valley State University, a leading water research institute, will lead an effort to document the current scope and future potential of blue economy activities in Michigan. The resulting report will be used to engage a range of stakeholders in discussions about the ways in which such economic development activities could be expanded and accelerated across the state.
