About this grant
The program goal is to strengthen and grow community foundations in the Netherlands. Currently, there are four community foundations in the Netherlands, and they are located in Alkmaar, Amstelveen, Schiedam, and Texel. Stichting SBF has initiated three new pilot projects in Rotterdam, Eindhoven, and Maastricht. Responding to the growing interest in community foundations in the Netherlands, the grantee and its partners will provide technical assistance to new community foundations, bring existing community foundations together in a network, and raise awareness among government and society at large about the power and potential of community foundations. Established in The Hague in 2006, Stichting SBF promotes the social role and significance of philanthropy in the Netherlands.
