About this grant

The program goal is to engage young people in decisionmaking processes in order to promote and strengthen the rule of law, accountability, and transitional justice in Croatia and the Western Balkan region. Through a variety of activities, the Youth Initiative for Human Rights – Croatia will focus on building the capacity of young people to address these issues and increasing dialogue among young people from all sides of the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia. During the grant period, the grantee will advocate for accountability and responsibility for war crimes and human rights abuses, foster reconciliation through the development of a culture of truth-telling and acknowledgement, and strengthen leadership in these areas among young political leaders and students. The grantee will also strengthen its capacities by diversifying income sources through new partnerships and continuing to develop regional programming with partner organizations in Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Kosovo. The grantee is based in Zagreb.
