About this grant
Over the past five years, Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa have been building a political alliance called BRICS, and in early 2013 announced the intention to create a BRICS development bank. In this project, ActionAid Brasil, a member of the international ActionAid network since 1999, will strengthen Brazilian civil society’s capacity to monitor and influence Brazilian government engagement in BRICS activities and related global governance forums. The project’s objectives are to strengthen the social and environmental standards governing international financial flows, particularly from BRICS, and help build a network of nongovernmental organizations participating in related international dialogue.
