About this grant
The Southern Cape Land Committee was established in 1987 and works with rural communities, farmworkers and dwellers, and small-scale farmers to create the conditions for agrarian reform. Over the next two years, the Support to Advice Offices and Farm Communities project will educate people on farms about their rights and how to access them. The grantee will work with 10 rural advice offices and 34 area farm committees, representing the interests of farmworkers and dwellers living on 298 farms in 11 local municipalities in the Eastern and Western Cape provinces of South Africa. The grantee will train farm committees and advice offices to address labor and tenure violations on farms and support advice offices to improve their fundraising and governance and administration systems.
