About this grant
Cities play an important role in the management, protection, and restoration of their local water sources. Municipal leaders make daily decisions related to drinking water, wastewater, and waterfront development. The Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative is a binational coalition of mayors that seeks to promote and advance the protection and restoration of the full Great Lakes Basin. With Mott support, the grantee will: 1) provide a voice for local governments on regional Great Lakes issues; 2) work to halt the spread of Asian carp; 3) encourage sustainable water management practices; 4) increase the grantee’s membership; and 5) invest in its own organizational development.
