About this grant
The Instituto Centro de Vida is a Brazilian civil society organization that serves as the secretariat for the Brazilian Infrastructure Working Group and works with networks and impacted communities in Amazon river basins threatened by finance of large-scale hydroelectric development. This grant will enable the grantee to strengthen the new strategic plan of the Infrastructure Working Group. In addition, this project will support work with networks and local communities in the Amazon’s Teles Pires and Tapajos watersheds to monitor compliance with standards and seek to mitigate impacts of a large hydroelectric complex planned in the, as yet undeveloped, Tapajos River basin.
