About this grant
The project goal is to strengthen discussion and interaction among civil society organizations and movements in Poland, Russia, and Ukraine, especially in view of the current deterioration of the relations between Russia and Ukraine and Russia and the West. To this end, Stowarzyszenie im. Stanislawa Brzozowskiego – Krytyka Polityczna will organize seminars and short-term fellowships for civic leaders, journalists, and researchers from Poland, Russia, and Ukraine to enable them to analyze the changing political and social contexts and develop new, more effective strategies for civic response. In addition, the grantee will work with partner organizations in Russia and Ukraine to develop and publish a series of sociopolitical debates. Finally, the grantee will organize an international gathering with the participation of civic activists from other European countries to discuss relevant East-West issues and joint action. The grantee was established in 2003 by a group of young political scientists and civic activists with the mission to combat economic, social, and cultural exclusion and increase civic participation in public life in Poland. In the past six years, the grantee has established good working relationships with colleagues in Russia and Ukraine and is expanding its international and regional work.
