About this grant

This grant supports a project to develop an action plan for a global summit on community philanthropy. Momentum for an event similar to a global symposium on community foundations, held in Berlin in 2004, has been building among leading global community philanthropy development organizations. Such an event will raise the profile, provide a platform for knowledge exchange, and energize the global community philanthropy field. Building upon meetings with important stakeholders and practitioners over the past three years, the Interaction Institute for Social Change will lead efforts to develop an initial draft plan for the summit, conduct a stakeholder analysis, convene a smaller design team and a broader planning team, and develop an action plan for the summit. The grantee provides network building, facilitation, leadership development, and consulting services to schools and school systems, domestic and international nonprofit organizations, coalitions, and foundations.
