About this grant
The program goal is to strengthen civic participation and volunteerism in Bulgaria. To this end, the Time Heroes Foundation will increase the level of volunteering by promoting the concept of volunteerism in the mainstream and social media, increasing the visibility of volunteer contributions to social change, and increasing the capacity of nonprofits to work effectively with volunteers. In addition, the grantee will upgrade its current services and develop new services for skills-based volunteering. Also, the grantee will expand its program outreach and recruit volunteers from small and remote cities and marginalized groups. During the past two years, the grantee has established itself as the most popular service for volunteering in Bulgaria by supporting over 23,000 volunteers from 110 towns, establishing 16 young volunteer clubs in schools in 11 cities, and publishing a guidebook on good practice in volunteering. The grantee is based in Sofia, Bulgaria.
