About this grant
The National Youth Leadership Council has been the premier leader in the education field, specifically the service-learning area, for the past 30 years. It specializes in developing model programs, convening practitioners, conducting trainings for teachers and students, publishing research, and advancing service-learning education policies targeted at helping children grow and succeed as future leaders. Today, the grantee is a leader in helping teachers and afterschool providers understand and embrace service-learning as a magnifying teaching methodology that provides opportunities for all students to increase academic skills and knowledge while engaging in important activities that meet genuine community needs. This grant will support efforts to: 1) elevate research, data, and stories that demonstrate service-learning as an effective strategy; and 2) publish articles on the findings and present the resources at national convenings.
