Strengthening TRANSEUROPA Network in CEE

About this grant

The project goal is to strengthen grassroots civic participation in decisionmaking processes at the European level. To this end, European Alternatives Limited will expand its network of partner organizations in Central and Eastern Europe; strengthen the network’s organizational capacity; organize a series of joint events to promote citizen engagement and dialogue with European institutions; and provide input into the policy dialogue on the European Union level concerning issues of democratic governance, inclusive decisionmaking, transparent resource allocation, and operational effectiveness of European Union institutions. The grantee was established in 2007 with the mission to promote democracy, solidarity, and cross-border cultural exchange in Europe. During the past two years, the grantee enlarged its network with ten organizations and more than 200 individuals from Central and Eastern Europe, provided training and capacity building programs to more than 300 activists, and developed and disseminated a series of publications and training materials on key issues about democracy in contemporary Europe.
