About this grant
The project goal is to strengthen grassroots civic participation in decisionmaking processes at the European level. To this end, European Alternatives Limited will expand its network of partner organizations in the Central and Eastern Europe and Russia region; strengthen the network’s organizational capacity; organize a series of joint events to promote citizen engagement and dialogue with European institutions; and provide input into the policy dialogue on the European Union level concerning issues of democratic governance, inclusive decisionmaking, transparent resource allocation, and the operational effectiveness of European Union institutions. The grantee was established in 2007 with the mission to promote democracy, solidarity, and cross-border cultural exchange in Europe. Since 2010, the grantee has been organizing the TRANSEUROPA Festival in several cities in Europe simultaneously, including cities in Bulgaria, Romania, and Serbia, allowing grassroots activists to participate in discussions on Pan-European issues.
