About this grant
The purpose of this grant is to support the development of a commercial kitchen food business incubator that will be located within the new Flint Farmers’ Market. The Flint Food Works Commercial Kitchen will have the capacity to incubate small food processors seeking to create value-added food products for wholesale distribution, as well as culinary ventures like catering and prepared food for retail consumption. The grant will also support first-year operating expenses associated with the transition of the market to its new downtown location. The project will be managed by the Foundation for the Uptown Reinvestment Corporation and its supported organization, the Uptown Reinvestment Corporation, which works to improve the quality of life of Flint-area residents through the revitalization of downtown Flint.
