Multi Modal Development and Delivery

About this grant

This grant will allow Smart Growth America to partner with Michigan state agencies on two related projects that promote more livable and environmentally sustainable communities. The grantee is a national organization dedicated to the broad adoption of compact development and multimodal transportation principles. The projects covered under this grant include: 1) assisting the Michigan Department of Transportation with implementation of Michigan’s so-called complete streets legislation, which is intended to make roads accessible to all users; and 2) partnering with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority on a series of studies that assess the potential for walkable urban development in the state’s metropolitan areas.
