About this grant

Launched in March 2013 as a project of TechSoup Global and the Council on Foundations, NGOsource is a membership service for United States grantmakers that streamlines and standardizes the equivalency determination process. The service aims to dramatically improve the efficiency of international grantmaking and to inspire a significant increase in cross-border philanthropy. Over 2015, NGOsource will improve the functionality of the service and raise funds needed to achieve financial sustainability through membership dues and fees. Mott funds will support collaborations with nonprofit information providers such as GuideStar and Foundation Center, application programming interface integration with commercial grants management systems, development of capability to work in several languages, cooperation with leading international grantmakers on strategies to seed the NGOsource repository with previously certified equivalency determinations, and expanded outreach to small- and medium-sized foundations. Founded in 1987 as CompuMentor, TechSoup Global helps nonprofits globally obtain and use technology to heighten their impact.
