About this grant
This grant provides support to Instituto Comunitario Grande Florianopolis to coordinate the activities of the Ibero-American Network of Community Foundations. Initiated in 2013, the network aims to strengthen community philanthropy organizations in Spain, Portugal, and Latin America. It currently has 32 members from Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Portugal, and Uruguay. Over the next two years, the network’s objectives are to: 1) structure governance and membership policies; 2) promote virtual and face-to-face exchange experiences; 3) improve communication among members and with other stakeholders; and 4) increase the participation of European members. Activities will include monthly virtual meetings; one in-person convening of country representatives in 2015; a full in-person member convening in 2016; peer exchanges for at least ten member practitioners, maintenance, and enhancement of a trilingual Web site with biweekly news; and the provision of promotional materials about the network and the social impact of its members. The network is managed by the Instituto Comunitário Grande Florianópolis, Brazil’s largest community foundation.
