About this grant

With prior Mott support, River Network launched a project in the southeastern United States to deepen river and other freshwater groups’ understanding of water quantity issues: instream flow protections, interbasin transfer regulation, etc. As a result, there is increased understanding of how and why to protect and restore river flows in the Southeast. With additional Mott support, the grantee will build and facilitate a Southeast Flows Peer Learning Network that allows watershed and state-level river groups to learn from each other and other experts, leverage their skills and efforts, create new alliances, and spark innovative approaches to ongoing problems. Funds will also be used to support the grantee’s annual meeting in 2017, to be held in Michigan.
