About this grant
The Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper is an environmental organization focused on protecting and restoring the Buffalo River and portions of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. The organization developed an initiative to help Buffalo transform from a rust belt city into a vibrant community that capitalizes on local water resources to boost economic development while improving water quality in local waterways. With this Mott grant, the grantee will research and define measurable, achievable actions that promote the health and vitality of the Great Lakes while also advancing economic and social goals. A report will be developed to provide a framework and tool kit for advancing such strategies in Buffalo that can be applied to other communities in the Great Lakes region.
