About this grant

The project goal is to strengthen nonprofit leadership and increase the level of resources available to nonprofits in the Central and Eastern Europe and Russia region. To this end, the Slovak Fundraising Center will create a team of prominent trainers and resource people to design a yearlong leadership development program with a specific focus on local fundraising. During the grant period, the grantee will deliver three cycles of the program to at least 40 nonprofit leaders. In addition, the grantee will fine-tune the business model of the program to ensure its long-term sustainability. The Slovak Fundraising Center was established in 2009 with the mission to increase the effectiveness of local fundraising and strengthen professional capacities of fundraisers in Slovakia and internationally. The grantee provides information, training, and technical assistance to fundraisers in Slovakia and in the region. Also, together with its sister organization, the Czech Fundraising Center, the grantee is organizing an annual fundraising conference, which in 2014 attracted more than 140 participants from 11 countries in the region. The grantee is based in Trnava, Slovakia.
