About this grant
Established in 2007, the Podolian Agency for Regional Development works to ensure the successful and sustainable development of its home region through supporting an informed and engaged citizenry. The grantee will work with a range of information and communications technology specialists to enhance the capacity of civil society actors to improve governance in Ukraine. The program goal is to broaden access to and use of e-democracy tools in Ukraine. The grantee will stage a series of events aimed at overcoming the digital gap for vulnerable target audiences and engaging their capacities for e-democracy development. They will also create new products and applications to facilitate e-democracy practice while actively promoting internet safety and security as a critical feature underpinning online governance. In 2016–2017, the grantee developed a number of mobile applications used by citizens to improve government responsiveness in the city and region of Vinnytsia. It also organized coworking events in five other cities to expand this practice.
