About this grant
The program goal is to support the development of strong and inclusive communities in Ukraine that are addressing the needs of internally displaced persons. The Ukrainian Women’s Fund will refine and expand, from four to six regions, a model for supporting and integrating internally displaced persons at the community level. Building on successful interventions to develop strong peer-to-peer linkages within communities, additional focus will be given to working more directly with local authorities in target locations. In 2015-2017, the grantee conducted training workshops for almost 1,000 participants in four pilot regions of Ukraine. It also supported 21 local initiatives aimed at facilitating community cohesion and encouraging active participation rather than dependence among displaced persons. Founded in 2000, the Ukrainian Women’s Fund helps women’s civic organizations play an active role in the processes of democratization of society and contribute to equality, justice, and respect for human rights.
