About this grant

Fundacion EcoAndina is an Argentinian organization that works with upper Andean communities to implement solar energy, energy efficiency, and water conservation solutions. This grant will support the grantee to promote, provide training, and monitor solar villages located in remote, rural communities in the upper Andean plateau region of Argentina and Bolivia. The high plateau region is home to hundreds of rural communities with no access to modern energy services because grid extension is cost prohibitive and access to bottled gas is intermittent at best. The Solar Villages program will promote replication of its integrated solar energy model in villages in the region.
