Michigan Green Communities Network

About this grant

Local government officials and other local leaders across Michigan want to pursue clean energy initiatives for fiscal savings and other social and environmental benefits. They face a variety of challenges, however, in adopting such practices and policies, so there is a need for technical assistance, peer exchange, and implementation tools. Connecting local leaders and supporting their work through training, education, and communications is the focus of the Michigan Green Communities Network, a project of the Michigan Municipal League Foundation. This renewal grant will allow the network to continue to promote the adoption of clean energy and expand network member participation and geographic diversity. The grantee will raise the profile of the program through increased outreach and web-based tools to track community progress.
