About this grant
The Joint Advocacy/Policy Institute is a collaborative project of the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers and the National Council of Nonprofits, two major United States networks of philanthropic and nonprofit associations. The project aims to enhance state-level collaboration between regional grantmaker associations and state nonprofit associations by creating mechanisms through which association leaders can interact more closely. This will be accomplished through two core strategies. The first strategy — raising awareness about the value of policy collaboration among the associations’ staff and board members — will involve a variety of joint activities over 2015 and part of 2016, including focused messaging about the importance and impact of policy work, conducting joint Webinars, producing case studies of existing collaborations, and seizing opportunities to work together when ad hoc policy threats arise. The second strategy involves planning and conducting a three-day Joint Advocacy/Policy Institute in the summer of 2016.
