About this grant
The Flint Farmers’ Market is a central component of ongoing efforts to revitalize downtown Flint. Newly relocated to the downtown Health and Wellness District, the market provides Flint residents with year-round access to fresh produce and locally produced foods. In addition, the market maintains an active calendar of community events, makes community meeting space available to local groups, and supports local food entrepreneurs through a commercial kitchen co-working facility. This grant will provide operating support for the facility as well as expanded programming. The Foundation for the Uptown Reinvestment Corporation receives and administers funds for charitable purposes and for the public welfare of Genesee County, Michigan, including support for the Uptown Reinvestment Corporation, which operates the Flint Farmers’ Market.
