About this grant
Frayintermedia was founded by veteran journalist and media trainer Paula Fray to help train journalists and communicators across the African continent and has been providing training since 2005. The grantee has provided tailored training and mentorship support to many nonprofits on communication and facilitated a communications convening of Mott grantees in 2015. The grantee will conduct an evaluation of grants made through a partnership between the Mott Foundation and The Atlantic Philanthropies to support the community advice office sector in South Africa for the period 2013-2016. The evaluation will assess the impact of the grants on the overall work of the organizations that received support, the relevance of the supported programs relative to the needs of poor and marginalized communities, and whether the supported organizations achieved the anticipated outcomes. The grantee will engage all the organizations supported and will conduct desktop reviews, develop case studies, and produce a video as part of the evaluation. This grant has been made possible by a partnership with The Atlantic Philanthropies in support of the community advice office sector.
