About this grant
The program goal is to use new information technology to engage citizens in reform efforts in Ukraine. Following a needs assessment, the Sunlight Foundation will host the leaders of seven selected Ukrainian organizations in Washington, D.C., in September 2015. Over the course of a week, the grantee will work directly with the organizations’ leaders on specific challenges or projects they have identified regarding the use of technology to promote civic participation in Ukraine’s reform efforts. The Ukrainian leaders will also participate in the grantee’s annual two-day transparency camp. The grantee will provide follow-up technical assistance to help ensure that the Ukrainian leaders’ projects and ideas continue to flourish. Founded in 2006, the Washington D.C.-based Sunlight Foundation is a national, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that uses the tools of civic technology, open data, policy analysis, and journalism to make government and politics more accountable and transparent to all.
