About this grant
The United Nations Foundation established the Energy Access Practitioner Network in 2011, which has become a global network of over 2,000 members. The network represents clean energy enterprises, nongovernmental organizations, governments, and academia operating in over 170 countries with the aim of catalyzing decentralized solutions for rural electrification in developing countries. A key constraint for these groups is access to financing to help build energy access enterprises. To address this constraint, the grantee will produce a second edition of its well-received publication, "Investing for Energy Access", which will include a special section on the financing needs of mini-grids. This edition will also be enhanced with an online searchable database.
