This grant will support the continued organizational and programmatic development of People in Need, one of the largest nonprofits in Central and Eastern Europe. In 2016, the grantee provided relief and development assistance in 24 countries through 227 projects, a 20 percent increase in volume from 2015 and a threefold increase since 2013. During the grant period, the grantee will expand its aid missions in Ukraine; respond to other humanitarian needs around the world; continue programming to reduce the social exclusion of children from marginalized groups in the Czech Republic; and provide technical assistance and support to civil society organizations and human rights defenders in countries under threat.
