Its mission is to advance the cause of peace through analysis and development of fresh policy ideas and direct engagement and collaboration with decisionmakers in government, business, and civil society. Its policy research centers bring the benefit of multiple national viewpoints to bilateral, regional, and global issues. Established in 1910 in Washington, D.C., with a gift from Andrew Carnegie, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing cooperation between nations and promoting active international engagement by the United States.
