About this grant

The program goal is to provide comprehensive support to internally displaced persons and others affected by conflict in Ukraine. Through a network of legal advice centers, Goreniye will provide primary and secondary legal assistance to displaced victims of conflict in four regions (Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhiye, Kharkov, and Ukraine-controlled Donetsk) bordering on the conflict zone that has received the bulk of such migrants. The grantee will also develop a center for distance consultations, allowing clients to seek advice from access points throughout the regions; provide a range of services through educational workshops and training activities aimed at identifying opportunities for beneficial economic and social integration; and provide targeted legal and social support services for demobilized combatants who have returned in large numbers to their communities with little state provision of social or psychological support services. Based in Pavlohrad, Goreniye was founded in 2005 to provide wide-ranging assistance to disadvantaged and marginalized groups throughout Ukraine.
